Spring Festivities 2013

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy Birthday Katherine!

Happy 7th Birthday Austin!

I know it is hard to tell what that blue blob is: a dragon breathing fire. Austin is a full personality. The energy level in the room is always enhanced when Austin is present. He is happy, athletic, and intelligent. He is quick to grasp concepts and fun to converse with. He struggles to adjust when things are unjust. My friend Marissa said, "Austin is one of those kids that is good at anything he does." He is an exceptional bike rider and he's playing the piano quite well. His physical stamina is impressive. After mom did a wall sit for 1 long minute, Austin did his for over three! He loves to jump on his pogo-stick, skateboard, and ride his bike with no hands.

Papa and Lulu graciously allowed Austin to have his birthday party in their back yard. I am so grateful the weather was warm--you never know in Idaho what April will bring. The last thing I wanted to do was entertain seven active boys in my home. Large, open spaces are much better!

Funny Kid Quotes

Pierce is going through a phase where he likes bum bum jokes. One day he said, "Mom shake your boobies" and so I said, "did you just say, 'shake your bum bum?'" he replied, "No, shake your nursing thingies."

I didn't want to put Pierce's socks on because I had just put on wart medicine. He really wanted his socks on though so he told me that I should just put them on because they were wart approved. -age 3

Carter: When Carter was 2-3 years old, he would always stand up on his chair to eat, turn around and shake his bottom while chanting, "shake my doody, shake my doody, shake my doody."

Pierce: "Oh! There's a traffic jam!" He was pointing to about nine cars lined up waiting to turn left. I love how he has no idea what a real traffic jam looks like because we live in Idaho.

Carter: Carter says he is going to have twelve kids when he grows up: Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, Hans Solo, etc...

Carter just said his bedtime prayer and it went a little something like this: "Thank you for Mommy and thank yo for Cinderella and thank you for all the princesses."

Carter: "When I grow up I'm going to marry Cinderella."

Mommy: "Really?"

Carter: "Yes, I'm going to marry Cinderella if she wears a blue or a pink dress, not a white dress."

Mommy: "Will you kiss her if you marry her?"

Carter: "Yippee!"

Carter: "Mom, can I take a bath next year?"

Mommy: "Yes Carter, yes you can."

Mommy: Pierce, we don't say "ha, ha."

Pierce: But ha, ha is my favorite word!

Mommy: Why is your face covered in chocolate?

Pierce: I didn't eat anything. . .

Pierce always says "Oh" whenever you tell him things. For example,

"I love you Pierce." "Oh"

"You're so fast!" "Oh"

Pierce's alter-ego is a dog named Fetch. Sometimes when he is pretending to be Fetch, if he is called upon to pray, he will just bark the whole prayer.

Mommy was on the beanbag with the two older kids, Pierce was playing by Carter. All of the sudden Carter started crying and Pierce yells out, "Somebody else did it!" October 2013

As the older kids were getting ready for school, Pierce walked up and said, "I checked my calendar and it says you need to stay home and play with me." Nov 2013

I was trying to get Pierce to try a mini quiche at Costco. After offering a piece of candy for one bite eaten, Pierce replied, "I'm trying not to eat too much candy. I had a lot of candy on Halloween and now on the other days I try not to eat too much candy." Nov 2013

If the kids keep getting out of their bed at night, I'll put them in their car-seat for about 30 seconds. One night Pierce was struggling so I said, "Pierce if you get out of bed, I'm going to put you in your car-seat." He replied, "That's not an option mom."
